Split Test Plugin For Wordpress Is Here!

Posted by admin on 28 February 2008

Well after much delay, we’re ready to reveal an initial version of one of Firepow’s custom plugins called TESTIT.

TESTIT gives you the ability to split test different posts within wordpress. You can write two different variations for any post, and be able to see from within the WP Admin, which post generated more clicks.

And not just links from within the post either.

You can see which blog post causes the most people to click through to other pages on your blog, other categories, other recent posts, whatever else you have in your sidebar.

DOWNLOAD: Click Here to download the testit plugin and readme file.

INSTALL: See included Readme file

VIDEO: Also, please watch this video for a sample of how the plugin will work.

Finally, before you start using the plugin - as you’ll see in the video - there is a section called TROUBLESHOOTING…

(you’ll notice this troubleshooting section has more in it than it does on the video - plugin has been updated)

Go to this section and read all of the instructions carefully, and make sure you’ve followed them before you begin testing on your posts.

This plugin has taken us alot of hard work and testing, so if you like it, it’d be great if you could show some love by adding this post to your fav social network, or blogging about it for your own readers too.

Enjoy!

Oh P.S. If the video freezes, just drag the progress bar back to the start and let it start again and it should work.

What Makes A Great Blog? Part 1

Posted by admin on 26 February 2008

All this talk about Firepow helping your blogging so immensely raises the question, “What exactly IS a great blog?” Or perhaps more importantly, “What is required to become a successful blogger?”

Big question:

Allow me to offer at least a start to an answer to this question, and in doing so offer some further insight into the advantages of Firepow.

1. Quality Content

It’s king and will continue to be so. Of course the words “quality” and “content” only have meaning relative to the niche you’re in - whether it’s video or audio they want, funny or informative stuff - you’ll make the most money by having the best content for your niche, fullstop.

While the BEST content doesn’t get created by software (in most cases anyway!) certain tidbits of software can help make your content BETTER. Whether it means slotting in a relevant video (like the preview plugin video I hope you’ve seen), maintaing a consistent frequency of posting, sourcing the best info to allow you to CREATE the best content yourself, or a host of other spice ups, Firepow will go as close as possible to having you covered on this front :)

2. Usability:

Having great content is one thing but having your content available on your blog in a way that allows the user to take full advantage of it is another. This covers issues such as the layout of your blog, the way the categories, pages, and tags are presented and organized - The ability for users to share your content with their friends and otherwise interact with that content via comments, polls, and more.

3. Great Marketing

You might have great content but in alot of niches, so does everyone. Quality content is king but it’s not enough on it’s own - even a king needs an army, and a bunch of servants and advisers to help him do his job.

Successful blogging is about having the ability to get the word out about your great content, and there surely are many ways to do that. Successful bloggers know about their target market, and they both write and promote their site with that small (or big) group as their focus. They have an intimate knowledge of their target market and choose their methods of promotion based on that knowledge - they don’t blast social networks just because it’s the IN thing - instead they focus on the promotional methods that they know from research and testing, will most effectively reach their audience.

I’ve created Firepow with this knowledge in mind and like I mentioned, have tried to incorporate certain features into it, to help with or optimize each of these factors of successful bloggers. The goal of this being, to make it possible for the average guy to become a successful blogger/niche marketer if they so desire.

We’ll continue this discussion in my next post.

While I’m Revealing Features…

Posted by admin on 24 February 2008

I might let this one out of the bag too…

At the end of the day success in blogging doesn’t come down the the blog platform you’re using, the plugins you’ve got installed or the pretty theme you paid all that money to have designed.

It comes down to whether you DO the things necessary to make your blog a success? DUH, right? It means how well you consistently take all the actions necessary to get the word out about your blog, add exciting new content, network with other webmasters in your niche, and so on.

One great feature I very intentionally integrated into the Firepow back office is a “task manager” …

What this does is allow you to set yourself up a schedule of tasks related to your site, that you will be notified of at the appropriate time.

For example, you might want to submit one blog post to 10 social networks every three days. You get a calendar and can nominate each of the days when you want to be notified that this action is required…

Then when you log into your Firepow on that date, you’ll receive a reminder “Submit blog post number 1 to social networks! Click Here to complete that task”

And so on and so forth. You can make a schedule as detailed as you want, and can elect to also be notified by email so that you don’t miss a beat. It’s for this reason and so many others that I think Firepow will give more people the ability to go further with their blogs than ever before.

Firepow Feature Revelations…

Posted by admin on 21 February 2008

In the excitement of the leadup I realized thanks to some helpful comments that I haven’t even given out much information yet as to what Firepow will do yet…

As I mentioned, the three primary areas that Firepow will focus on are the Creation, Marketing, and Management of high quality blog sites.

I guess we can go from the top and look at the creation part.

I’m sure you know that setting up a wordpress blog is anything but an instantaneous process.

Sure, you can use fantastico to install WP in a few clicks but what about moulding your blog into the search engine friendly, visitor pulling, sales converting power blog we all want? Yeah, there’s alot more to it than Fantastico.

You have to add all the necessary plugins, create a clean category and page structure, create SEO friendly URLs, tweak your theme for a sharp CSS design, add snippets of code here and there - it’s a BIG job.

The creation part of Firepow will allow you to complete all the tasks above in as close as possible to 1 step. You’ll be able to choose from a list of almost 100 of the best wordpress plugins, including 17 that have been custom created by us that Firepow will install and activate automatically as you desire. It will create your SEO friendly URLs, setup the category structure you desire and even…

Ok I guess I’ll let this one out now…

You’ll have access to your own Wordpress Theme Creator so you can get your theme looking JUST the way you want it :) No, not like the free theme generators out there… we’ve made the goal for a user to be able to make themes like the one you see on this site or on my andrewhansen.name… It’s pretty spectacular :)

There’s plenty more in the creation part too - heck we haven’t even touched on CONTENT creation yet, which will be an integral part of the system. But suffice it to say that setting up quality WP blogs will get taken from a week long process to a 1 or two step ordeal…

Firepow JV Competition Prizes - Will You Be A Winner?

Posted by admin on 14 February 2008

So we’re currently tossing round some ideas for prizes for the Firepow JV competition.

If you think you can make the most sales of Firepow by promoting it through your email list, blog, site, whatever… you’re in for a pretty sweet deal :)

We’re thinking… and I need your feedback on this on… About giving away one of these bad boys…

http://powersports.honda.com/atvs/

As the first prize for the most sales by a JV partner.

Would you be keen for one of these? :)

If not, do you have any ideas for cooler JV prizes that would be a big incentive as well as become a talking point enough to get a bit of extra attention to the launch?

(Aussie slang:) Whaddya reckon?

Free Wordpress Plugin Number 1!

Posted by admin on 10 February 2008

As part of our prelaunch campaign, we’ll be giving away two of the original versions of some of the never before seen wordpress plugins that will comprise the Firepow software program.

The one I’m going to mention today isn’t one you will have seen before and it is AWESOME!

In short, it’s basically a split testing plugin for wordpress.

You can add two variations of any post you write, and have them rotated and tested to see which brings the most clicks on your affiliate links, most signups, most continued readership of other blog posts, and more!

Check back to this blog tomorrow and there should be a full post explaining the plugin and a link for you to download it!

REMEMBER - you’ll only get notified about this plugin if you’re on our prelaunch notification list, so if you haven’t yet, CLICK HERE to register now.

Sneak Preview Number 1

Posted by admin on 10 February 2008

One of the elements of Firepow will be the large number of custom plugins created for the purpose of improving your blogs readership, increasing the functionality of the standard wordpress, and increasing your websites traffic.

This first plugin is a bit of a lightweight. Nothing too crazy, but I’m hoping it will whet your appetite for what’s to come…

Rather than writing a big lengthy post, I made a video demonstrating what this little plugin will do for you.

Check it out here, and don’t hesitate to leave your feedback - remember this is YOUR software as much as it is mine.

Sneak Preview Number 1 - Video

OH and by the way - I’ll soon be releasing this cool little plugin to you guys for free :)

Enjoy!

Andrew

What I CAN tell you about Firepow…

Posted by admin on 08 February 2008

It’s been kept pretty well under wraps until now, but I’m finally ready to let a few things out of the bag regarding this amazing new software.

So here’s what I CAN tell you…

Firepow is at it’s base, a blog creator software. It will work with the Wordpress platform, and allow users to easily create and manage ultra high quality wordpress blogs…

Eh, it’s been done before…

However…

Firepow will be the most flexible software of this kind on the market.

Want to turn your blog into a mini social network? Easy…

Want to turn your blog into a niche video site? Easy…

Want to setup a blog to run for months with various forms of quality content added on autopilot? Easy…

Want to build a tight knit community around your content and allow users to contribute to the success of your site? Easy…

And that’s just the tip of the ice berg…

Firepow will also allow you to create “super” blogs with the use of our 15 never before seen custom plugins, all giving you the site owner the ability to make your blog do things you never thought it could do.

I’m talking get more backlinks, generate more traffic, start a viral buzz, build relationships with people in your niche… Ooooh it’s almost scary what this thing will do for you!

I’d best leave that there for today but there’s plenty more to come. Make sure you keep checking back for updates so you don’t miss any of the free stuff we’ll be giving away!

Until next time.

Andrew
